Autism Friendly Show

Due to COVID-19 we are unable to hold any performances this season, but we hope to return in 2021 and hope to include an Autism Friendly show again.

Please visit us in the future to learn more about our Autism friendly shows.  Urban Nutcracker was the first Nutcracker production in New England to hold a sensory friendly performance, and one of the first theatrical productions in the world to do so.
[su_quote cite=”Russ Kenn, Executive Director, New England Chapter Autism Speaks”]“We are thrilled this special performance has been added to the schedule because it’s a strong signal of inclusion. Many individuals and families affected by autism face obstacles in enjoying the same experiences that many in our society take for granted, especially around the holiday season. The best present anyone can receive during the holiday season is to be included and valued—mission accomplished.”[/su_quote]

2014 was the year of its first ever Autism Friendly Show, which is designed for members of the community who have forms of Autism to be as comfortable as possible–with convenience, extra staffing, pleasant lighting, and soft sounds in mind. The show was a tremendous success with a huge amount of audience appreciation, and we are proud to be doing it again for our fourth year in 2017!
